Time flies when you're having fun. Mayra and I have spent the last two weeks completing local orientation, house hunting and getting our driver's license. We met some new people and made some friends with other newly arrived families. Getting settled in our new country is going slowly but surely.
Summer is the perfect time to settle in Europe. The weather is mild and you get plenty of daylight which helps with feeling energized. We are definitely taking advantage of these nice warm days before winter comes. Not having the June gloom like we did back in the Central Coast of California is a welcome change for us.
With the warm sunny days, Mayra and I visited the city of Maastricht to see what the city was all about. The first day we visited Maastricht was probably one of the hottest and most humid days for this area. The high was about 95 degrees Fahrenheit. The heat did not deter the locals from enjoying themselves outdoors. Mayra and I did a quick tour of the city and I took some of the images below.
